Popular French writer Pascal Ruether is the author of five books, including the acclaimed novel “Heart in Braille,” which was filmed and brought its creator several awards. As a novelist, Ruether is famous for his masterful way of resolving intractable conflicts through ridicule, comic tricks and the surprises of love. “Barracuda Forever” is the story of a man who refuses to grow old. A former boxer named Napoleon, in his nineties, divorces his wife to start a new life. His masculine posture and boxing skills are still with him, and he feels invincible. A caring son tries to look after him, but Napoleon prefers to communicate not with him, but with his ten-year-old grandson. The two of them go bowling, get a dog, speak Esperanto to each other and lie to everyone recklessly, starting risky pranks. The boy admires his grandfather and only vaguely guesses about the secrets of his idol, which he will soon learn.
