The plot of “Jerusalem” is simple; under this external simplicity hides a wealth of artistic images, characters, and human relationships. People who, under the influence of the words of a charismatic preacher, decide to go to live in the Holy Land find themselves at the beginning of a much more difficult and long journey - the path to God and to themselves, on which the true “I” of each of them is revealed. But no matter how different, sometimes unexpected, motives prompt pilgrims to leave their native country, the outcome of their journey will be even more unpredictable. The questions that are raised in the novel are truly eternal, and the subtle literary form in which they are presented turns “Jerusalem” into a large-scale family saga, on the pages of which our contemporaries will find something that concerns them specifically.
