Vlada Rechkina is a student at the history department of a provincial university. Lives with his mother, grandmother and cat Ryskaya. Vlad has never seen her father, but she knows that he is alive and well and exists in parallel space in the same city as her. Vlada doesn’t admit it to anyone, but she sometimes thinks about her father. Why did he leave her? Why is she nothing to him? Sometimes she even dreams about her father. In the first year there are many new subjects, but most of all Vlad is fascinated by the course of Slavic mythology, taught by an outcast teacher, fired from Moscow State University for some shady dealings. The teacher's name is Alexander Stepanovich Dolgov. Gradually, Vlada begins to understand that Dolgov is hiding some dark secret. She becomes obsessed with the teacher.
