A new book by Vologda writer Gennady Sazonov comes out to the reader on the eve of the 70th anniversary of the Victory and is dedicated to the events of the Great Patriotic War. For the first time in the story “Maryinsky Ticks. October 1941" the author recreates the little-known, but truly heroic pages of the battles of the Red Army with the hordes of fascists in the fall of 1941 near Vyazma, Torzhok and Kalinin (Tver). In fierce battles, our troops defeated the fascists near ancient Torzhok, which marked the beginning of the great Moscow battle and the expulsion of enemies from their native land. The story “The Betrothed” tells about the life of a rear village, lost in the deep forests. The picture of distant and terrible events is complemented by stories. The works presented in the new book are published for the first time. The book is intended for a wide range of readers.
