The chronicler contains detailed and unique information about the construction of cities, military campaigns, events of the oprichnina and the Time of Troubles. The first monographic study of the monument includes its comprehensive analysis. The emergence of its main part in the administrative environment in 1611–1613 is convincingly shown. under the pen of the Moscow clerk Nechai Perfilyev. The author was able to identify the sources of the monument: chronicles, discharge records, district charters of Tsar Vasily Shuisky, records of oral stories and observations of the compiler. The chronicler is interesting as a monument of historiography and as notes from a contemporary of events, as well as in his special manner of presentation.
