In Abby's world, magic is not something special: it is part of everyday life. And when Abby discovers that she has zero magical powers, she is branded a “simp”—a common loser and quite possibly a danger to society. The outlook for kids like Abby isn't all that bright. Many are abandoned by their families, while others are sold to Treasure Hunters (ordinary children are immune to charms and spells). Luckily for Abby, her family sends her to a school that teaches ordinary children how to live in the magical world.
