It's no secret that every year the average level of human intelligence increases, which contributes to the emergence of people with supernormal abilities. I'm not talking about the mutants from the X-Men movie who are capable of teleportation or control of metal. But abilities such as telekinesis or telepathy are no longer uncommon. The hero of my book, Alex Fitzgerald, is a graduate of the Cremion special school, which has produced more than one generation of outstanding doctors, civil servants, athletes and artists. Alex, a private detective with skills in hypnosis and partial telepathy. But because of his second gift, he has to pay with frequent hallucinations and often headaches that drive him crazy. Fitzgerald also managed to graduate from the police academy and work in the New York Police Department for more than five years. years, after which he began to engage in private investigation and to the beginning of an investigation into teenagers - the name of Fitzgerald thundered in all newspapers as one of the most successful detectives in the “city of the big apple.” A pedantic, neat, young man of twenty-six years old, he takes on only the most high-profile cases. However, as required by the world of commodity-money relations, he also agrees to minor investigations for a good fee. The appearance of four teenagers in the center of New York wearing bloody clothes and showing obvious signs of mental illness caused a furore in the local media. Where are they from? What happened to them? Why exactly were these four involved in this mysterious story? Our detective begins to search for answers to these questions. After visiting the Lompak psychiatric hospital, Fitzgerald conducts a hypnosis session with one of the teenagers who came to their senses. However, apart from fragments of memories like “black water”, “crucifixion” and “sad man”, the teenager remembers nothing else. Complete amnesia and a sense of animal fear complicate the investigation. On the second day, all four teenagers are found beheaded in their own rooms. Alex, having learned about what happened, hurries to a psychiatric hospital, but an elderly woman finds him on the threshold. He spends literally five minutes with her, during which time she tells him her story: “My name is Samantha Weathervane.” Mr. Fitzgerald, I came about a matter of a confidential nature... Three days ago in my mailbox I found a letter that my husband sent me. He writes that he lives on the seashore and sees sunrises, waking up early in the morning. During the day engages in gardening, mainly growing lemons and apricots. On weekends he rides his bike to a neighboring town, Silvertown I think, I don’t remember exactly. Before going to bed, he reads Irwin Shaw and Gabriel Garcia Marquez... In general, he writes that he is doing well,” she fell silent, waiting for the obvious question. - Excuse me, so what is the problem? — My husband died three years ago... Where did the mysterious letter come from? What happened to the teenagers? Why were they beheaded, and not just euthanized in a psychiatric hospital? And who is behind all this? The book is filled with a lot of action and puzzles and this is only the first book about Detective Fitzgerald. A full-fledged detective series is planned. At the moment, two books have been written: “In Search of Indigo” and “The Age of Aquarius.” The author is working on the third book, which called “Confession of the Victims.” More than thirty pages of the manuscript slowly lead the detective story to the trilogy.
