The book that the reader holds in his hands is dedicated to four great scientists of the 20th century who made the most significant contribution to the formation of modern scientific psychiatry in the form in which we know it today - Emil Kraepelin, Eugen Bleuler, Sigmund Freud and Karl Jaspers. So much diverse literature has been written about each of these wonderful scientists that it would seem impossible to say anything new about them. But the authors of the book succeeded: they tried to give it a human dimension, to show each hero not only as a scientist, but also as an ordinary person: his feelings and emotions, strengths and weaknesses, strengths and weaknesses of character, bad habits, religious, moral, political and philosophical beliefs, and often errors and misconceptions. The creators of the book tried to place the development of the ideas expressed by these scientists in a historical context, to show the influence of the ideas of their predecessors, teachers and mentors, on themselves, on their scientific worldview. The authors of the book also confirm with historical examples the legitimacy of the existence of psychiatry as a separate scientific discipline and its inextricable connection with neurology, neurobiology, somatic medicine and psychology. An important advantage of this book is that the authors present many little-known and rarely mentioned facts. The publishing design is preserved in PDF A4 format.
