The book examines the teaching about man of the two most widespread pseudo-Christian sects in Russia. This work is intended for all those interested in issues of sectology and missionary work. The book was published on the basis of a dissertation written by priest Daniil Sysoev for the degree of candidate of theology in the department of sectology at the Moscow Theological Academy. Despite the abundance of literature devoted to criticism of the teachings of the Seventh-day Adventist and Jehovah's Witnesses sects, We were unable to find a work that analyzed the anthropology of these heretics. Typically, criticism of Adventism places special emphasis on its Sabbatarianism and eschatological ideas. And in Jehovahism, its triadological and Christological errors are usually refuted and a huge number of false prophecies, again associated with their eschatological constructs, are emphasized. Surprisingly, the radical distortion by sectarians of the teaching about our own nature and our destinies somehow passes on the periphery of the attention of sectologists. But the way a person comprehends himself largely determines his theology, and even more so his soteriology. It is this annoying gap that this work is intended to fill.
