The book by a French researcher is dedicated to the relationship between man and dog. According to the author, a dog is a unique animal; its study can often provide much more knowledge about a person than scientific research in purely humanitarian disciplines. The author problematizes a number of questions, the answers to which usually seem self-evident: features of the evolutionary origin of the species, domestication strategies and/or independent adaptation of the dog to living conditions in the same niche with humans, etc. According to the scientist, it is Canis familiaris with “ from an ecological point of view is the closest creature to us.
