The distant year 1957. Realities of the Soviet years. At the station in Kislovodsk, Zoika and her mother stand in line for tickets, and, in the crowd of people, meet a charming man who immediately helps them buy tickets without queuing. The middle-aged mother of Zoya, a young graduate of a communications college, unexpectedly falls in love with a lonely, charming pensioner and quickly marries him. However, soon after the marriage, the stepfather begins to constantly leave the house, to who knows where. A curious stepdaughter sets a goal: to find out at all costs the reasons for the long absences of her dear stepfather. She suspects: her stepfather is cheating on her mother!
