American writer Christine Catherine Rush was born in the USA in 1960. She made her debut as a science fiction writer in 1987 with her first published story, “Sing.” Since then, she has gained fame both as a prose writer and as an editor. Today, Rush works with equal success in the genres of “hard” science fiction, fantasy, and participates in the novelization of popular film series: “Star Trek”, “Star Wars”, “X-Men”. To date, the author has about fifty novels and more than a hundred novels and short stories, Hugo, Locus, Asimov's awards and many others. Books featuring the works of Christine Catherine Rush have been published in fifteen countries. Unfortunately, little of Rush is translated and published in Russia: the only novel “New Uprising” and several novellas and short stories in magazine versions. Christine Catherine Rush is the first science fiction writer to win three reader awards in one year: “Asimov's Readers Poll Awards”, “Ellery Queen Readers Choice Award”, “Science Fiction Age Readers Choice Award” for one work-story “Echea” ”, which also received the Homer Award and was also nominated for the prestigious Nebula, Hugo, Locus and Sturgeon awards. Many of Rush’s works were co-authored with her husband, science fiction writer Dean Wesley Smith, as well as with Kevin Anderson, Nina Kiriki Hoffman and Jerry Olshen. Science fiction fans who want to get acquainted with the work of Christine Catherine Rush should remember that she often uses pseudonyms: thus, some works co-authored with Dean Wesley Smith are published under the name Sandy Scofield or Katherine Wesley, works in the detective genre under the name Chris Nelscott, and in the romance genre as Christine Grayson. Editorial activities occupy a significant place in Rush’s work. She edited Pulphouse: The Hardback Magazine with Dean Wesley Smith and served as editor-in-chief of Fantasy & Science Fiction, one of America's leading science fiction magazines, from 1991 to 1997. Successful editorial activities were awarded in 1994 with the Hugo Award in the category “Best Editor”.
