Detective Jack Stone is investigating a mysterious crime: a former employee of the Atlantis IT corporation, who worked on translations of ancient manuscripts, was killed. The only clue is a tattoo in the shape of a rebirth rune on the hand of the alleged killer. The policeman's assistant unwittingly turns out to be the antiquarian Moroni, a man whose knowledge of artifacts and mythology is as great as his desire to unravel all the secrets of the universe. The investigation leads Stone to the trail of two rival secret societies that have spread their agent networks throughout the world. Everything is at their service - mystical rituals, secret knowledge, huge financial resources and the highest technologies. To get the key to solving a chain of crimes, the detective joins the dangerous Atlantis expedition to Antarctica, but soon realizes that the case he has taken on is much more risky than it might seem at first glance. And the stake in this game is the fate of humanity.
