1536: Fear spreads across Japan. The ancient structures of government, centralized in the Chinese spirit, have been dissolved for more than four hundred years in the feudal relations of a society that is feudal in nature. The provinces are ruled by the impoverished descendants of noble families and energetic leaders who become heads of clans; their activities, sometimes useful and active, lead to disasters when they are overcome by envy or hatred of the richer or weaker. And they appropriate for themselves a field, a tree or a fortification of a neighbor. In Kyoto, the capital, uncertainty, poverty and despair reign everywhere; even the emperor reigns without being crowned, and the shogun trembles, seeking support in vain. However, every extreme provokes a response - the hour of order has struck. Hideyoshi (1536-1598), a man of low birth, but risen by luck and genius to the post of supreme ruler, will restore to Japan, through a thousand and one battles, the peace necessary for progress, and restore her unity, thanks to which the dawn will break over the country new times.
