For many years, the history of Georgia was closely connected with Russia. Over these years, the history of the coexistence of the two peoples has had everything: friendship and cooperation, discord and enmity. On the eve of World War II, Georgian nationalists relied on Nazi Germany to defeat the Red Army. The proposed book by Georgian historian Georgiy Mamulia details the vicissitudes of cooperation between Georgian nationalists and German Nazis. Unfortunately, there are still forces in both Russia and Georgia that are interested in the escalation of smoldering conflicts and the growth of contradictions between the two countries and peoples. At the same time, history is the main lever for increasing tension. Taking this into account, the reader should evaluate the work offered to his attention and understand that G. Mamulia’s work is devoted to only one aspect of the chronicle of the Great Patriotic War. Understanding that the book of the Georgian historian may cause a mixed reaction among Russian readers, the publishing house still considers it necessary to inform the public with different points of view on historical processes, even if the publishing house does not always agree with the conclusions of the authors.
