A young guy, Dmitry Melnikov, who received a university education and was drafted into the army, was discharged shortly after being sent on a “business trip” to Somalia to fight pirates. To come to his senses, he decides to become a huntsman and go to the mountains to the farthest cordon for several years. But in some inexplicable way, together with his dog Kraft and the GAZ-66 car, he finds himself in an unimaginably distant past - into the Stone Age. Assuming that this happened to him for a reason, Mityai decides to create a center of modern civilization in the Stone Age. He is a hard-working guy, with him is an army all-terrain vehicle, chock-full of all sorts of good things, and if so, then why doesn’t he teach the ancient inhabitants of the Caucasus everything that he knows? Why not become a professor in the Stone Age? But during his first meeting with mammoth hunters, Mityai learns that they possess such sacred knowledge that his contemporary science pales in comparison. Realizing that the life of ancient hunters was not so difficult and joyless, the hero of the first book of the novel “Progressor of the Stone Age” nevertheless becomes a teacher of ancient people, among whom, it turns out, there are many Vedls - people with paranormal abilities lost by man in the process of development of society and supplanted by science. The most important thing that Mityai understood for himself is that there may be a completely different path for the development of humanity.
