Olga Kolpakova’s books have long attracted the attention of parents, teachers and psychologists. “Entertaining Geography for Kids”, “Entertaining Natural History”, “Entertaining Biology” have already been republished more than once. This author began as the editor of Russia's first magazine for children and parents with educational and educational games. The material accumulated over two decades for teaching a child through play allowed the author to create a series of works that can be classified as “fairy tale therapy.” Fairy tales from the series “The Beech is Afraid of Itself” have been repeatedly published in various magazines. But they are being published as a book for the first time. The fairy tales “The Beech Itself is Afraid” are funny, the child will be happy to read them on his own. Fairy tales will help the reader reveal internal experiences, conflicts, overcome difficulties, a closed character, and explain in a vivid, figurative form the rules and norms of behavior. But it is better to read them together with their parents. Fairy tales will help an adult look at a child and his problem from an unexpected angle; the adult characters in the series will set an example of how to solve a particular problem in an unconventional way. Gradually, from fairy tale to fairy tale, the main character of the Buka cycle, similar to any child, learns to behave, learns to share, rejoice, quarrel, help, not be afraid and, as a result, she herself comes to the conclusion that it is much better to be good than bad. And this does not at all prevent Buka from remaining herself. In 2010, O. Kolpakova received the “Good Lyre” pedagogical recognition award, which is awarded by schoolchildren and the teaching community of the city of St. Petersburg for manuscripts that play a significant role in education. The funny stories were illustrated by Svetlana Prokopenko, laureate of the “Artists of the Cherished Dream” award. For reading by parents to children.
