The book contains tales and stories about different countries and people. "The shadow creeps in slowly, pushing the heat towards the horizon. First it covers an olive grove, vertical, like a theater set, then two rows of houses, a rocky beach and striped umbrellas. The dark blanket quickly stretches on the bay, round like a horseshoe, sandwiched on both sides by rocky shores. Now you can, without squinting, watch how the yachts roll from side to side and the boats lift their bows in the distance, blocking the exit to the sea, the hills of Albania turn pink in the setting sun. The cicadas fall silent instantly, as if slammed. The lanterns cast liquid strips of light on the bay, the water trembles and snakes in them, and boats are pulling towards all three establishments of Kalami - that’s the name of our village.
