Jean Baudrillard is a French sociologist, cultural scientist and postmodernist philosopher; he is often called the “guru” (“spiritual father”) of postmodernism. Baudrillard argued that the modern era is characterized by a feeling of loss of reality, it has been replaced by simulation, and all manifestations of the surrounding world have become nothing more than “simulacra.” Having made a trip to America, Baudrillard came to the conclusion that this country was also turning into a simulacrum, a beautiful dream of the promised land across the ocean has disappeared: he speaks of the decline of power, the decline of power, of the lifeless New World hanging in airless space. However, throughout world civilization there is a devaluation of values and the destruction of foundations that seemed unshakable. What will happen next, will it be possible to stop the “countdown of time”, or is it fatal and irreversible? Jean Baudrillard answers these questions.
