“Ladybugs Return to Earth” is a story about young people who live on the outskirts of the City. Next door to their house is a cemetery. Young people jokingly call their home “a haven for the living and the dead.” Fate has brought together here the inhabitants of the “bottom of life,” so well known to us from the plays of the classics (suffice it to recall Gorky’s immortal work “At the Bottom,” which has become a textbook). Thieves and drug addicts, alcoholics, prostitutes and hucksters are gathered in one place. It seems that nothing can erase the heavy butt stench from here - this is how the author depicts the modern “bottom of life” for us. It is all the more interesting and remarkable that it is here that a naive, kind, bright belief in ladybugs still exists.
