Daphne Blakeway is not a hooligan at all - just a young lady with character. It's a pity that not every school will understand this. But Santa Rita is a very special educational institution! Daphne had no idea it was SO special. On the very first day, being drawn into a detective story is too much! Daphne loves to read – so she agrees to become the librarian’s assistant. Only her “boss” Emily Lime, a real bookworm, simply attracts trouble and adventure. Just like George, the only boy in the whole school. So are your roommates. In Santa Rita, something happens all the time: either a cannonball hits the floor in the dorm, then during a night out for jam someone falls into the clutches of the Beast, or there is a fire in the library. By the way, the library is also of interest to someone else - someone with far-reaching insidious plans... But Daphne, Emily and George will bring the attacker to clean water! Dave Shelton was born in Leicester (England), and now lives in Cambridge with his wife, daughter, cat and dog. He created a large series of detective comics about the dog, which were published in The Guardian, a dedication to his wife and cat is still ahead, and a book for his daughter – of course, “Emily Lime”. This captivating story incorporates the techniques and characters of 19th-century British classics, Agatha Christie and Roald Dahl, and is aimed at readers aged 9–10 years. Dave Shelton is distinguished by a light, ironic style, brilliantly preserved in Russian by translator Natalya Klyuchareva. Illustrated the Russian edition by Alexander Mitkalov.
