The Proteus generation ship was placed in orbit of the planet Aubera twenty years ago. During this time, dozens of factories and scientific bases of the Proteans grew up on Auber, but full-fledged Colonization never began. The main reason, as Protean media say, is the Ebrails, the local residents. But this does not stop (or even encourage) adventurers. They leave the protected zones at their own risk, obtain local artifacts, hunt and make connections with the ebrails. Trappers - that’s what they call themselves, remembering the pioneers of the Wild West. And no matter how much a trapper gets on the Planet, he will never return to his former life. Each trapper has his own path, but none of them leads back.
