Battleships of the Brittany type were only a step in the development of the French battleships of the Dreadnought era. Behind them in 1913-1914. battleships of the "Normandy" type were laid down, on which, for the first time in the world, four-gun main-caliber artillery installations were to be installed, they were to be followed by even more powerful battleships of the "Lion" type with the world's most numerous main-caliber artillery of four four-gun installations and with a perfect booking system. Battlecruisers were designed. The First World War interrupted the implementation of these plans. The fate of the first French “superdreadnoughts” - battleships of the Brittany type - is described in this book.
