The study of the origin of human language, or glottogenesis, is like a detective story: too many versions and evidence have to be collected bit by bit. Moreover, these grains come from different sciences: anthropology, neurophysiology, ethology, archeology, genetics and, of course, linguistics. In the book “The Origin of Language: Facts, Research, Hypotheses,” linguist, Doctor of Philology Svetlana Burlak collected data from all these sciences, spoke about them in simple words and put forward her hypothesis of the origin of language. This is the second, expanded edition of the book. 10 years have passed since the release of the first edition. During this time, dozens of discoveries were made in glottogenesis, and the question of the origin of language became one of the most fashionable areas of science. The new edition takes into account the latest scientific data, a new chapter has appeared, and the remaining chapters have been significantly expanded.
