Nikitas Stifat (+ c. 1090), presbyter, venerable. Born around 1005. Became a novice of the Studite monastery from the age of fourteen, a close disciple and cell attendant of St. Simeon the New Theologian (+ 1022) in the later years of the latter’s life. Nikita was subsequently the first describer of the life of Saint Simeon, an imitator and follower of his holy life, and an adherent of his theological views.
