Arkhangelsk, northern Russia. An unknown force at once destroyed almost all complex organic life on the planet, including people. Caught by surprise, a group of old friends try to survive in a changed world and help others survive. They have to face both the evil manifestations of the metamorphoses of the post-apocalyptic world, and people who have lost everything human in the previous civilization. The main character wants to build something new on the ruins of the old world, and not restore something that has long since become obsolete. To do this, a caravan of the living sets off on a long journey to warmer and more inhabited lands, meeting both new friends and enemies along the way. The main thing now is to remain Human in inhuman circumstances.
