What awaits a person after death? Does human existence really end? From time immemorial, this question has tormented inquisitive minds. The Polozov twin brothers - a doctor and a programmer - are modern, non-superstitious people, each experts in their field, prone to adventure, not disdainful of working for shady businessmen, able to stand up for themselves - did not take their younger brother’s fantasies seriously on the theme of the other world. This was the case until a real ghost settled in the Polozovs’ house. Having discovered extraordinary abilities in themselves, including the ability to sense, hear and see representatives of the “other world,” the Polozovs begin to have a different understanding of the events that happened to them during the Afghan war, and how consequence, its true purpose in the world of the living. Forty days pass before the readers, full of dramatic, tragic, mystical and dangerous adventures, in which both the living and the dead act as opponents and assistants to the heroes of the novel. The novel consists of 40 chapters or “Days”. According to ancient belief, forty days is a special period of the human condition, connecting two worlds: the real and the otherworldly.
