The second part of the “Lonely Republic” series tells about the confrontation between a rigid, ideologically welded together by a common goal, technocratic civilization of earthlings and an amorphous conglomerate of magical civilizations. Eighty years ago, legions from the neighboring petal of the fan of worlds burst onto the beautiful earth. They were unable to capture the land, but they managed to destroy it. The remnants of humanity were saved in orbital stations and on the moon where, on the basis of an international network of military and scientific stations, a lunar republic arose. It's time for revenge. Having freed or, perhaps, captured one of the magical domains in someone else's fan petal, earthlings are trying to build a new republic there that can serve as a springboard for further penetration into worlds conquered by magicians and divided into separate domains. Who will be stronger: walking tanks or giant demons? Multiple launch rocket systems burning down forests on a tip from drones or immortal magicians capable of enslaving the mind and therefore considering themselves a “superior race”? The fruits of scientific and technological progress or the cunning and experience accumulated over millennia? Controlling all the technical and military power of the republic. Dictator or immortal overlords? Artificial intelligences - electronic gods, against powerful wizards who declared themselves gods. Swarms of flying drones and self-propelled mines, orbital bombardments and tactical nuclear weapons against aristocratic magicians with paranormal powers. War communism against feudal-slave society. Ordinary people versus paranormals. Rationalism versus mysticism. New young force or eternal, forever frozen antiquity? Equality and brotherhood against a society where only those who have paranormal powers are considered a real “person”. Only half a million earthlings against billions and billions of inhabitants of all petals of the endless fan of worlds enslaved by magicians. It is impossible to win. If earthlings can survive, this will already be a victory. But simple survival is not enough for earthlings. They still want to change this world just as before. All these worlds.
