Until recently, all responsibility for the emergence of local wars and armed conflicts was placed entirely on the “aggressive nature of imperialism.” For this reason, there was an unspoken ban on systematizing and studying the experience of the participation of Soviet troops in such campaigns conducted after the Second World War. The national military school turned out to be confined to the study of classical wars of the past. However, without a deep mastery of historical experience and the lessons of local wars of the second half of the 20th century. It is difficult to comprehend the essence of those phenomena and processes that are occurring in the world at the present time.
