F. I. O. - last name, first name, patronymic - as in the application form. What is this? What is a name? Do we own it? Permanently or temporarily? Are we appropriating what belongs to others? The name - a stroke of the pen, a mask, a trap, a double, a paradox - is difficult to understand. "What's in a name?" Or maybe look at it from a historical point of view? Personal history, after all, a proper name. The name of the author of this book is just such a story, tragic and funny. To understand it, we had to call on philosophers and poets, writers and theologians, artists and historians for help. I had to summon the shadows of my grandparents from oblivion. And call them by name. The book is written in the form of a diary kept in a Parisian apartment during quarantine, in three notebooks corresponding to the three names of the author: Olya Jarho - in childhood, Olga Anatolyevna Medvedkova - in the passport and Medvedkova, Jarho Olga Anat - in the French health insurance card. The author invites readers of the diary to think, figure it out, and play with names. Olga Medvedkova is a novelist, historian of art and architecture, senior researcher at the French National Center for Scientific Research, author of the novel “Three Characters in Search of Love and Immortality” (UFO, 2020).
