The story “Euthanasia” is capable of attracting the attention of, if not all, then very many readers with its title alone. But the point, of course, is not only and not so much this. The story itself, based on real events, does not belong to the category of light, entertaining literature, but is read with unflagging interest from the first to the last page. It directly and harshly poses the question of the meaning of human existence. The manuscript of the story was included in the short list of the Mark Aldanov Prize for Russian-speaking writers living outside Russia in 2018.
