Under the same cover are two different, but somewhat similar books. Ian Larry, the author of the famous children's book “The Extraordinary Adventures of Karik and Valya,” wrote “Brave Tilly” after 15 years in prison. But the notes of a restless puppy are full of humor and irony, as well as undisguised love for animals. However, this wonderful work was published in Murzilka with illustrations by Viktor Chizhikov in 1970 and was never republished. This was the last lifetime publication of Ian Larry (the writer passed away in 1977). The favorite book of yesterday's children and today's adults, “Joyful Acquaintances” by Alexei Olgin, was published only twice. But the illustrators were wonderful (Viktor Duvidov, Hugo Hiibus). Blue terrier Jules is like a child, lively, playful, spontaneous. He forces us to look at the world through a dog's eyes and see ourselves from the outside.
