The fleet, the ships of which will be discussed, has not existed for a long time. The Imperial Austro-Hungarian Navy disappeared with the collapse of the 800-year-old Habsburg Monarchy at the end of October 1918. Their ships were handed over to the victors and, with few exceptions, they were scrapped, and its Adriatic ports today serve several states. The sailors of this fleet became citizens of different countries - Austria, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Italy, etc. Unlike other countries, where veterans could indulge in nostalgic memories and visit the ports where they once served, veterans of the Austro-Hungarian fleet became subjects of new countries, mostly far from the sea.
