The author, as the main character of the story, is called Nato Kina. Is this a coincidence or is the author the same Indian boy who grew up and was able to one day write his memoirs? Let this question not bother the reader. The story “Son of Blackfeet” is based on Fiedler’s book “Little Buffalo”; it is deeper and more serious than “Little Buffalo”, but is still intended for children. Nato Kina (this is a literary pseudonym taken only for the story “Son of the Blackfoot”) has never revealed his true name to anyone, because he considers himself the true Son of the Blackfoot.
