Paris. Our days. Former crime analyst Emil Gershy and his art historian sister Zoya, who is able to see through the souls of criminals, are investigating the disappearance of boys from the Henry IV Lyceum who were fond of black magic. Child psychologist and blogger Vera Maksimova flies to Paris at their invitation to unravel the complex relationship between a literature teacher suspected of a series of murders and his students, but falls under the spell of a possible maniac dubbed the “Phantom of the Tuileries.” Twenty years ago, young women were found dead in the Tuileries Park. Dressed in carnival outfits, they sat like dolls with a deep puncture in their bodies. Was the teacher really not caught, but now he is old and amuses himself by arranging costumed performances, which he watches from the windows of his apartment? Soon his student is discovered, dressed in a dress and killed with a sharp object... But is the killer really a teacher? A story about a maniac-aesthete, in which a thoughtful and romantic girl from St. Petersburg and an eccentric, slightly cynical Frenchman who looks like an anime character become partners. They are helped by the mysterious Zoya, who is interested in the connection between art and the nature of crime. And this story unfolds against the backdrop of Paris, in its narrow streets, in the offices of the Prefecture of Police, in the Père Lachaise cemetery and in the grand Louvre among the world masterpieces of Michelangelo, da Vinci and Watteau.
