Three best novels by the famous writer Ruslan Kireev were published for the first time in one book for his 70th birthday. All of them were published in periodicals, warmly received by readers and critics, and awarded magazine prizes. The novel “The Messenger” (which opens a kind of trilogy, united according to the author’s plan not structurally, but internally) recreates one day of our contemporary, whose actions and even innermost thoughts are observed from a hiding place by a mysterious creature calling himself the Recluse. The one-volume book ends with the epilogue novel “The Boy Came.” His heroes - the Old Man and the Boy - did not manage to meet, they are like planets of the same star system - they strive for each other and repel each other; this force field imparts tension and dynamism to the narrative. The main place in the book is occupied by the novel “A Feast Alone”. It is densely populated by people whose destinies seem to be strung on the core of the plot - the fate of the novelist K-ov.
