Melody has a photographic memory. She remembers everything she saw and heard over the eleven years of her life, and words and sounds have taste and color for her. She is smarter than everyone in school. But no one knows about it. The teachers think that the girl cannot be taught, and from lesson to lesson they repeat the first letters of the alphabet with her. It would seem much easier to explain to others how much you know, what you love, what you want. But try to explain if your body doesn’t listen to you at all and simple human speech seems like an inaccessible luxury... And yet, the day will soon come when Melody will have the opportunity to utter the first words in her life. Will they hear her?
