Chloe Saunders sees dead people. Yes, just like in the movies. The only problem with the modern world is that if you claim to see ghosts, you will only achieve one thing, you will be sent to a mental hospital. At fifteen years old, the only thing Chloe wants is to fit in at school and maybe have a boyfriend. The girl unwittingly reveals her secret when one particularly evil ghost begins to haunt her, and thanks to her unusual behavior, she ends up in Lyle House, a center for troubled teenagers.

At the beginning, Chloe decides not to stand out. But then her roommate confesses that a poltergeist has been visiting her and disappears. Simultaneously with this event, other patients begin to talk about the manifestation of paranormal phenomena. Could this be a coincidence? Or is Lyle House not quite what it seems...?

Chloe realizes that she must find out the truth if she does not want to spend the rest of her life in a mental hospital.
