Resident Evil fans around the world are familiar with the work of writer Stephanie Danell Perry. Under a contract with Capcom, she writes novels based on the games of the cult horror series. At the moment, almost a dozen books dedicated to RE by Ms. Perry have been published, which are read by gamers from different countries. But, unfortunately, few people in Russia know about Perry’s books. And the main reason for this is that books are only available in English. Or rather, it was like that until recently. An proactive group of Resident Evil fans began translating Perry's books, and the first results are already in. A team of enthusiastic translators has released a Russian-language version of the first Resident Evil book, called “The Umbrella Corporation Conspiracy,” onto the Internet. Like the first part of the game, the book tells about the events that took place in the Umbrella corporation mansion, hidden in the Arklay Mountains. The book version of events is interesting in that it tells not only about the struggle of the STARS squad with the mutagenic evil spirits, but also about the events preceding this, the relationships of the characters and other small details of the life of Raccoon City and its inhabitants.
