“The Year of the Owl” is the first of seven detective novels by Alexander Ade that make up the “Time of the Owl” cycle. The cycle features 30 cross-cutting characters, first of all, a private detective nicknamed Korolek, a strong and bright figure who lives by his own code of honor. Throughout the series, he changes professions, working as a private detective, operative, and bomber. At the same time, he is responsible for solving murders - both of strangers and those closest to him. At the beginning of the cycle, he is 31 years old. “The Time of the Owl” is 11 years of Korolok’s life (from 2001 to 2011), his friends, women, gains and losses.
