First quarter of the 18th century. The royal decree comes to Tobolsk: to send a detachment to the Belogorsk volost in order to find the Vogul idol, known as the Copper Goose. At the end of spring, the expedition sets off, and almost immediately strange and mysterious incidents begin to happen to its participants. Soon the Russians learn that a gang of robbers is following on their trail, and the Tobolsk residents have no time to fight them back. However, having difficulty reaching the Belogorsk temple, the Russians find it empty - the Voguls left and took the shrines with them...
