Pavel Krusanov's new book is populated by mergansers and cunts, katenkas and three-zenks, chubs and coots, apions and ramfus, morphos and phrynes, whoever is here - right down to such creatures that the human language does not dare to give names at all. But people here call themselves doves - people who live on the land given to them by God, like birds fed by their Heavenly Father.
