Walter Mackin (1915–1967) is a classic of Irish literature. The Wind Brings a Storm is Mackin's most famous novel, and the author received three major literary awards for it. This is a story of love and testing of feelings, nobility and betrayal. The harsh and poor, seemingly primitive life of Irish fishermen turns out to be filled with bright events and ultimate meaning. The denouement of the novel takes place at Christmas, and suddenly it turns out that, like two thousand years ago, all the most important things happen in a poor shack, and not in palaces or comfortable apartments, and eternal values - love and faith - are still relevant in the modern world.
