Marat Baskin's stories travel across Internet sites and literary magazines. They even ended up in school textbooks. Before emigrating, Marat Baskin collaborated for a long time with the Belarusian magazine “Vozhyk” (“Hedgehog”), now with the magazine “Mishpokha”. His heroes are small-town Jews, and the center of his fictional world is in Krasnopolye. This is a place in the east of Belarus where Marat was born and raised. Baskin's Krasnopol residents live in New York, Israel and... outer space. They are kind and eccentric, as Jews should be. They find themselves in incredible situations, sometimes funny and absurd, but they always get out of them, striving to do good. Vladimir Levin, New York
