Second half of the 19th century. Immigrants from England and Ireland arrive in Australia, which has become a possession of the British Crown, believing in the limitless possibilities of this continent. Among the immigrants is London worker Robert Bailey, who by chance ended up on a ship bound for Sydney. From there, fate takes him to an island not yet marked on the map, where Bailey becomes a pearl fisherman. Despite the difficulties, he is quite happy with his new life. But one day Robert begins to doubt the reality of what is happening. It seems to him that no island actually exists. He came up with it out of despair, it was a dream. This means it’s time to wake up, return to London and find the foundling shelter, at the door of which he left his little daughter. Will Bailey find his Jane? What will be the fate of Michael, another orphanage child who was separated from his mother shortly after birth?
