Vada, or Emeline Nevada Holtz, the richest girl in America, goes to England, where she is to become engaged to an aristocrat whom she has never met. An accident that occurs with her companion on the road presents her with the opportunity to taste complete freedom. Continuing her journey under an assumed name, the girl discovers 19th-century Paris with its Latin Quarter and Montmartre. Due to her inexperience and lack of sophistication, she finds herself in unforeseen and sometimes even dangerous situations. Vada visits the artist’s studio.
