Кобрин, відомий дослідник, вдало зібрав та систематизував величезну кількість матеріалів, які відкривають нові горизонти для розуміння соціально-політичних аспектів того часу. Книга не лише містить докладні поколінні розписи князів та бояр, але й супроводжується таблицями, які роблять інформацію ще більш доступною та зрозумілою.
