The book contains diary entries of an unknown Pole who came to Russia in 1606 in the retinue of Marina Mniszech. The first edition of the “Diary of Marina Mniszech”, or rather, the initial part of the monument, was published more than a century and a half ago. This book offers for the first time a complete annotated Russian translation of the “Diary”. The “Diary” tells about many events of the Time of Troubles: about the journey of Marina Mnishek from Poland to Russia, about the last days of the reign of False Dmitry I, about the appearance of other impostors, about the Bolotnikov uprising, about the struggle with him Tsar Vasily Shuisky. The appendices contain Russian and foreign sources - excerpts from the “Investigation Case” about the death of Tsarevich Dmitry, documents about the wedding of False Dmitry I and letters from Marina Mnishek from Russia.
