Harold Robbins is also known as Francis Kane; The writer was born in New York. He spent his childhood in an orphanage. After graduating from school, he changed several jobs, and by the age of twenty he earned his first million in the wholesale trade of sugar. However, by the beginning of the war, Robbins went broke and moved to Hollywood, where he worked for the Universal film company. The first book, Never Love a Stranger, published in 1948, was based on childhood memories. Since 1957, Harold Robbins has focused on literary activities. And nothing: neither the lack of proper attention from critics, nor numerous marriages, nor disability shook his hope, and then the confidence that he was one of the best. 20 of his novels have now been published in approximately a billion copies. Robbins' books can be characterized as action-packed novels where the dominant themes are sex, money and power. In addition to detective stories and melodramas, he wrote the famous biography of Marilyn Monroe. Three generations of American writers consider Harold Robbins their teacher. In the 50s, 60s and 70s, this writer was the main trendsetter in American literature. Each of his new novels caused a huge resonance in society. Many of his novels have been filmed. Harold Robbins died on October 14, 1997 from a bout of heart failure and was buried in the Palm Springs Mausoleum in California. Contents: 1. Betsy (Translation: Victor Weber)2. Mustang3.
