Hurrian culture is the result of creative processing of the heritage of the peoples of Mesopotamia and Egypt. The political union of Amarna Egypt with the Hurrian state of Mitanni was not accidental and fruitless for both sides. The basis for the interaction of these cultures was laid by the inhabitants of the northern Mesopotamian cities, who preserved the cultural traditions of the Akkadian period, muffled in the south of Mesopotamia by the almost century-long dominance of the III dynasty of Ur with its totalitarian regime.
